How to Get Tons of Traffic to your Blog from Pinterest

In order to be successful on Pinterest (and turn it into a traffic driving machine), there are a few strategies that you need to implement so you can grow your followers, repins, and traffic quickly and easily.

I have been testing these Pinterest strategies for about a year now.  I know what works, what doesn’t, and what is a waste of your time.

I’ve heard bloggers say that they refuse to use Pinterest, that they can’t be bothered with the platform.

I can tell you that as a blogger if you’re not using Pinterest, you’re missing out on some serious free traffic to your blog.

Implementing Pinterest into the growth strategy of your Blog will be one of the best thing you will wish you should have done a long time before. As you know that increase in page views also led to an increase in income.

FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO EXPLODE YOUR TRAFFIC FROM PINTEREST

[1] MAKE USE OF A BUSINESS ACCOUNT

Some Bloggers make use of a Personal Account, If you are a Blogger and you are not making use of a Business Account, I will advice you to Convert your Personal Account to a Business Account.

Converting your personal account to a business account on Pinterest is important because a business account gives you access to a lot of useful features. Those features include your Pinterest analytics, promoted pins, rich pins, and more.

Converting to a business account is free. Doing so won’t change your pinning experience, and your account will look the same to the public. The only difference is that behind the scenes you’ll have access to some pretty neat features. I highly recommend converting your personal account to a business account. You have nothing to lose, but a lot to gain.

To convert your personal account to a business account, visit the Pinterest business page and click on “Convert Now.” Pinterest will guide you through the steps for converting your account.

[2] CREATE A LONGER PIN

  You can make your Pin

I make use of Canva  to create my Pins. Check HERE and check out one of my Blog Pin of 735 × 1102 pixels.

[3] MAKE USE OF KEYWORDS WHY CREATING YOUR PINS

Why should you care about optimizing your pins for Pinterest? Well, Pinterest is a search and discovery tool, not a social network. Without keywords in place then you won’t show up in the search, plain and simple.

I guarantee you that there are thousands of people searching for what you have to offer and you absolutely need to get your pins in front of them. Do you know that with Keywords on your Pins, your Audiences will remember the actual purpose why they Repin your Pin.

Doing this one simple thing can drive tons of targeted traffic to your site every. single. day.

[4] WRITE ABOUT HELPFUL TOPICS THAT APPEAL TO A LOT OF PEOPLE

Have you ever seen a viral pin? I can guarantee that 9 times out of 10, that pin went viral because it was super helpful to a large number of people.

The fact is, on Pinterest, there are certain topics that have a better chance of doing well than others. Why? Because they appeal to the masses. On Pinterest, some of the most popular categories are food and drink, DIY and crafts, and anything home related. If you write about either of those categories, you’re already one step ahead of the game.

If you don’t write about any of those topics, don’t count yourself out, just do your research. search for a topic in your niche on Pinterest, and find the most popular pins within those results. Next, write about those topics, and do it better than those people did it.

When creating your post, keep in mind that some of the most popular pins on Pinterest start with actionable headlines such as How To, 10 Ways To, or Why You.

[5] PIN TO GROUP BOARDS

On Pinterest, a group board works the same way a regular boards works. The only difference is that the creator of that board invites other people to pin to the board, and it then becomes a group board. I’ve found group boards to be extremely valuable because they allow you to get your content seen by more people.

A Pinterest group board can grow your followers, repins, and traffic like gang-busters.

The key to gaining leverage with group boards is having a strategy.

  • Pin Daily – Your own pins PLUS other pins that have a high repin rate on your own boards
  • Repin other members pins frequently to help maintain a high ranking board
  • The more times you can pin in a day the better. Space them out and always follow the board rules.
I Purposely created a Pinterest Account Named Bloggers Group Boards to help grow my influence on Pinterest.

[6] PIN DAILY AND DON’T SPAM YOUR FOLLOWERS

Do you ever notice that when you pin something Pinterest will recommend a board or pin you might like as well?

Pinterest is constantly rewarding active pinners by recommending their pins and boards to other interested users.

Sometimes when bloggers are trying to promote a pin, they will pin to several boards all at once without thinking about their followers feed.  This is spamming and they don’t want to see the same pin over and over again right in a row.  I would recommend pinning at least 10 other pins before you pin that same pin again.
